What could be nicer to start your life together than tying the knot overlooking the pristine Indian ocean?
Darrell and Lena’s garden wedding was held at Cottesloe Civic Centre Gardens with a glorious see view. Family members flew in to enjoy the ceremony and the weather turned out to be beautiful. In the evening dinner was held at the Perth City Hall.
For those who couldn’t make it to Australia a second wedding blessing was celebrated at Assumption Church in Petaling Jaya, followed by a wedding dinner at the Westin Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
James and Cathy split their wedding across two weekends. The first half was in KL, with a Tea Ceremony and a Dinner. The following weekend saw their friends come up from Singapore, as they celebrated the Chinese traditions of a Tea Ceremony and bargaining session by the groom at Pulai Springs Resort, Johor Bahru. You can view their photos here.
Dac and Wai Pin contacted me to be their wedding photographer for their Chinese/Vietnamese/Western fusion beach resort wedding at the Westin Hotel in Langkawi, Malaysia. Two very lovely families. The weather was all over the place with rain coming down during the portrait session, partly due to it being a crazy hot day that ended up with a pool party at the end of everything. Good it was a private pool as the party went on into the night. You can view their wedding below.
We had some time to kill before the wedding so took a few images around the Westin. Looks great doesn’t it.
The day starts with make up.

John and Mindy’s wedding was a fusion of both Chinese and Christian traditions. John and his friends did the traditional bargaining and collection of the bride before having a tea ceremony then off to church. The wedding was held in St. John’s Cathedral in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It’s a nice church with stained glass windows and an airy atmosphere. Afterward the wedding banquet was planned for the Royal Chulan hotel. The Royal Chulan has several areas for wedding dinners, with one of the popular venues the being the glass roofed central court which is what was used this evening. It is a personal favourite location for me due to its openness. It has a certain “feel” I can’t quite articulate. Photos below.
Mindy’s make up session started early in the morning.
Chilli Padi and Wasabi. Gauranteed to get the heart racing.
