Reita and Seng Hong’s wedding was held outdoors in the grounds of the Carcosa. After the wedding we went indoors for some portraits. Dinner was held at the Sheraton Imperial in central Kuala Lumpur.
Ming and Ezane’s wedding was held at the luxury hotel Carcosa Seri Negara in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The hotel consists of two mansions dating from colonial times. They were the residence of the British Governor General and Queen Elizabeth has previously stayed there, making it a fairly exclusive place to hold a wedding. The name Carcosa Seri Negara is given to describe both venues as one building is named “Carcosa”, whilst the other is the “Seri Negara.” Many friends flew in from around the world to enjoy the wedding and dinner banquet.
Do note the date of this post. In 2006 we were shooting film and digital simultaneously. The black and white images were digitized from the film negatives. I used Ilford HP5 and Delta 3200 exposed at 1600ISO to take these photos with a Canon EOS 1V. Digital Capture was with the Canon 20D, and Nikon D200 and D2H. Shoes by Jimmy Choo.
I know Peter and Dianne from Calvary Church in Damansara Heights (now relocated to the Calvary Convention Centre in Bukit Jalil). They wanted to do a renewal of vows and opted for St Andrews Church in Raja Chulan. An officiant flew up from Singapore to do the rites as they are done back in Peters home town. Regarding the standing on chairs and kissing….it’s a traditional thing. 🙂
The black and whites were shot on Ilford film hence the “sand-grain” look. Digital cameras used were the Canon 20D, Fujifilm S2pro, Nikon D70 and D2h. looking back camera sensors have come a very long way.
Paul and Marissa had a wedding covering several days and really laid it on for their friends and family who flew in from around the world. Day one was a welcome dinner at tamarind Hill. Day two the wedding at the Carcosa Seri Negara. Day three was a wedding banquet at the JW Marriott, held in a function room due to the smaller size of the dinner.
