Pre-wedding shoot for Hari and Shangkeree

A tender moment.

This afternoon we took Hari and Shangkeree out into the country side outside of Kuala Lumpur to take their pre-wedding portraits.  I was equipped with my Nikon gear (Oooo……. the weight builds up after shooting with these for so many years!) and also my trusty Fuji Xpro1 equipped with the 35mm f1.4. My shooting partner eyed it with great interest. He also shoots with a pro-Nikon body (D3s). Admittedly the speed of operation between these two cameras should not be compared as the D3 series is designed for sports and costs 3x as much as the Xpro1 . That said, the Fuji Xpro1 performed admirably and easily matched the D3 as far as image quality is concerned. One thing I have noticed on the Xpro1 is that it is really easy to hit the “Q” button instead of the focus button….grrr! I must send an email off to the Fuji engineers regarding this.

After the shoot was finished Hari surprised Shangkeree by bringing out the ring. Lovely!

Yes and Oyen’s wedding at Ciao Restaurant

Yes and Oyen’s wedding portraits at Ciao Restaurant

Yes and Oyen called me to be the wedding photographer for their wedding at Ciao Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. It was a dream come true for Yes as she had been eyeing me up to cover her wedding for close on 7 years! Only problem was no groom(!) a common problem these days. Then Oyen popped into her life and sure enough after checking dates it was fantastic that we could cover Yes’s big day!  This is the new Ciao. I had shot several weddings at the old one…some of them so long ago that everything was FILM based(!?!) This newer venue is really pleasant and the wedding was a small intimate affair with close friends and family. Everyone at the table was able to give a speech and many were very touching. As both Yes and Oyen are in the music industry, along with several of their guests, there were some lovely songs “gifted” to the couple, one of which was written specifically for them. A great wedding and one of those I will treasure the memories of for a very long time.

Wedding at Four Seasons Langkawi – Dominic and Lauren

Dominic and Laurens wedding at the Four Seasons Langkawi. This is a second post on this wedding, a transfer from my old site which has more than 100 more photos. Please note that as the following images are a transfer from my old website that they are of lower resolution than my newer postings. That said I do know they look great on my iPhone 6.

Danny and Kirsty’s Wedding – Chinese Tea Ceremony and Banquet at the Sunway resort hotel

Danny and Kirsty celebrated their wedding day in January 2009 with traditional Chinese tea ceremonies and then followed up with a wedding banquet in the Grand Lagoon ballroom at Sunway resort hotel and spa. This wedding was full of emotion and a really fun experience. I believe it was this wedding that convinced me to start packing ear plugs for the traditional fire crackers we;come committee.

Please note the following images have been transferred from my old site when we were all “ Internet load speed” compromised. That’s a fancy way of saying that they are of lower resolution than more recent weddings. Think of them as being “mobile device optimised” as they look great on the phone.
